Armstrong subscribers, you MUST turn off these security settings!
In the HomePass App:
To turn off Armstrong Guard security features (Online Protection, Advanced IoT Protection, Adblocking, and Content Filters) in the HomePass app, enable Privacy Mode by accessing the Guard menu in the Menu & Settings page and navigating to the Guard tab.
- Access the Guard Menu: Open the HomePass app and navigate to the Menu & Settings page.
- Select the Guard Tab: Tap on the Guard icon or tab within the Menu & Settings page.
- Enable Privacy Mode: Enable Privacy Mode, which will disable all Guard features.
- Privacy Mode Functionality: When Privacy Mode is enabled, the following features are disabled: Online Protection, Advanced IoT Protection, Adblocking, and Content Filters.
- Data Collection: DNS sampling and user agents will not be collected when Privacy Mode is enabled.
By having these services on, gives the internet provider tools to block our type of services.
If you are capable of managing the app on your own and whitelist the blocked services, please feel free to do so.
Never disable the firewall on your router.
Additionally, if you are capable, change the DNS servers on your WAN connection on your router to Googles: (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). This keeps the ISP from tracking your even more and controlling where your internet traffic is allowed to be used. You should be able to do this in the app.
